Life in Bangalore

Well, its been almost a month now since i shifted to this wonderfully weird city- Bengaluru. And I must admit that it has been more on the fun part. I live in a quite secluded part of the city(Whitefield) and so have not been able to enjoy the nightlife yet. But I wont complain even for the day life! The heart of the city where I have been only on weekends remains abuzz with so much activity. People seem to be pouring in from every direction. MG road and Brigade road are the busiest being the areas full of restaurants, malls, multiplexes, showrooms and what not. However, the Forum mall in Kormangla also attracts special attention from the college goers. Kormangla has some of the best arts colleges which consist of a very good crowd.

The transport in the city is also commendable although it is the buses which are responsible for traffic jams most of the time. The 'Vajra' Volvos are the best of the herd. Travelling becomes quite less frightening as it takes long times to reach any place within the city because of these volvos. "In Bangalore, distance is measured not in terms of kilometers but in terms of hours taken to reach the place!" that is what most people say and would agree with. Other modes of transport like autos come with the risk of getting duped. An auto driver would easily recognize an outsider and ask for more money(now, this is common in every major city, isn't it?).

The IT scene in the city is again one of the most amazing things. Being home to so many IT organizations, there are zillions of people working in the sector. The ITPB(International Technical Park, Bangalore) is a center for more than 200 companies with 4 towers standing tall(which again an awesome scene) and always buzzing with activity at almost any time of the hour.

However, the best thing of all is the weather. As long as I have been here, the sun comes out of the formal clothing of clouds only on fridays which is day where most professionals wear casuals. It is neither too warm nor too cool out here. The climate always remains pleasant making everything less tiring. Usually it rains in short bursts and late in the evenings.

To sum it up, it has been a great experience so far in this amazing IT city and I am sure there is so much more fun coming up!!

What a Match!!

Whoa!! The Wimbledon final at the Center Court proved to be another epic battle between two gladiators! After losing the longest ever final last year Federer came around and proved his mantle with 50 aces!(I can't believe that!) And to do so in front of a crowd including legends of all sorts was such a great feat. It took 77 games and 256 minutes to dish out a winner but in a way I just thought that Andy Roddick deserved it more. He fought hard and it was just that he was on the not so lucky side as Federer got the chance to serve first in the final set. Always serving ahead of Roddick and taking the game, Federer had an upper hand winning a game first and then putting pressure on Roddick in the next and that is exactly what happened in the 30th game of the final set. Roddick had a superb chance of winning the second set when he went 6-2 up but the champion in Federer just staged a comeback! Anyway, sadly, it was a shattered Roddick in the end and I wish he had won it.

Watching Movies

Just watched 'New York' today. Thought the message has been conveyed but taking two and a half hours is a little bit too much. Background scores and cinematography were commendable and it was good to hear distorted guitars throughout the movie. However, every time a good piece of music comes along one is compelled to think if Pritam has again 'taken inspiration' from some other music album. Anyway, acting was just fine and I think Katrina has improved her accent so much. Given her looks, who wants to concentrate on her accent anyway. Overall, i would say the movie is avoidable. The message implying on the hypocrisy of the American Government towards Muslims is quite strong and noticeable.

This is my first blog so I am dying for suggestions for the betterment. Please post if any.
